| My house mate calls it "The Con Crud". He's been sick all week. What's not fair is that I've been sick, and I didn't get to go! And I didn't catch it from him. Totally lame. Sounds like the con was a total blast though. Maybe next year... | |

| The con was a blast. I am still tired. I know I had fun but right now it is all a fuzzy blur. I had a great time getting a pic with Joe and then Paul. My best autograph story is with Colin Cunningham. This weekend I plan to try and write down some thoughts. Emerald, It would be so cool if you came next year!!!! I think Pam was trying to convince a few of the squirrels to come back to Shore Leave next year. I would love to do that but that depends on how fast I can pay off this year's trips. I think I may have over did it a bit with my extra trip to see David in Toronto. Well I am off to grocery shop. My cupboards are bare. | |

| So this is the shortest of the reports ok I lied this is the second shortest, Monday's will be the shortest. Ok on to the report.
Friday's Convention Report
I made it into at Atlanta at 0800 this morning and to the hostel by 0815, then ran and was in line at the Sheraton which is a mile and half away from the hostel by 0900, left hostel at 0845, so did this run with a sixty pound pack cause there was no time to unload! Made it through the line and to the Marriott, where the first panel was being held by 1030 and I looked pathetic and found the squirrels where the hugging ensued. When I showed up I thought it was going to be to a Stargate Atlantis Panel, but no it was a panel of Paul…not sure if this was a better thing or not but it was certainly interesting. (I do apologize for my lack of notes on this day…I was kinda tired) One of the things I do have down that was said by Paul at the Panel was "Ask me anything, if I don't know it I'll make it up!", we also learned that Kate is a much better kisser than David. Those are the only notes I have about the panel. After the panel the squirrels dispersed. Me and Kimber just grabbed lunch at the M Store in the Marriott and ate lunch in the lounge are of the Hilton, then looked around the Walk of Fame at autograph prices. Then progressed back to the Hilton and registered for my photo with Joe and bought one with Paul ( have decided that the next one I go to I will get a photo op with the two of them), from there we went to the Dealers room , the close quarters were awful with the crush of people I bought nothing and escaped with my life! Then we made our way back up to the Atrium Level and sat in line for the next panel, the SG-1 panel, while we sat in line we met up with most of the other squirrels. We managed to snag seats in the second row on the left of the stage (get kimber to get the pictures, her's are the best). The panel consisted of Colin Cunningham, Gary Jones and Ben Browder. The three of them are fucking hysterical! One of the better moments of the panel was spit take that Ben did when asked about why he acted other than all the money they made, Gary laughed and Colin later informed us he had farted, but that is getting ahead of myself. At the beginning of the panel the status of the movie was asked about, and the answer was that the scripts had been written but due to financial reasons it had not gotten any further than that. TO which Gary remarked that he could give $100 and then Colin chimed in with the fact that after the Prayer the Offering Plate would be passed for donations. When asked what was the one thing they wished they could have done, Gary and Colin both wanted to go through the puddle, and we found out that it took a good bit of coercing for Ben to get them let him go through the puddle. There was a comment made by one of the people asking questions, that they would go through all three of them, this was taken 'badly' by the panel guests and so the laughter ensued. After that the odd questions continued along the same lines. When talking about going through the gate the following things were mockingly said, "It was called Stargate, not Starhula-hoop," said by Colin in reference about what he wanted to so . He was talking about the fact that he had used the Gou'ald rings but not the Stargate. He also talked about how he wanted to go through the gate wearing a snorkel. Then they discussed the uniforms and Gary's Combat Cardigan. There was a good deal more said but I was laughing to hard to take notes so that I could report on it later. Departed the panel and sepertated from the squirrels for the evening, I went and bought autograph tickets for Ben and Claudia so I would only have to stand in one line in tomorrow or Sunday. Then I went and got Paul to sign my item, I told him he got to choose which to sign, and he decided to sign two for the price of one and when I gave him his thank you note from the squirrels he remembered me and Casey from the Chicago convention and asked if he was going to get another one, also said he looked forward to seeing me tomorrow for my photo op. That's all for today more tomorrow!

Great report!!!!! Thank God you took notes because everything is still a blur. The reason that Paul was all alone in the Atlantis panel is that Jason, Rachel and Joe were going to be late getting to the con. Maybe next year they shouldn't schedule such an early panel on Friday. The story goes that Joe forgot he was flying out on Thursday until he got a call asking if he was at the airport yet. He got a flight on Friday and had to miss Friday's activities. I never heard why Jason and Rachel missed the panel. I thought the Ben, Colin and Gary panel was quite amusing. At the beginning Ben was so quiet I wondered if he was ever going to say anything but after a bit he started to be talkative. It seemed like he was just taking his time and checking out what Gary and Colin were going to be like.

| Hey Swimchic, you promised more reports!!! I hope things fine and you are just too busy to pop back in. So I guess I have to come up with a report. Some random memories. Boy Dragon is one overwhelming experience. Paul talked about how he got his small part in the Star Trek movie. It was because Paramount/JJ Abrams was inundated with letters and emails asking them to get Paul as Scotty. Now they had no idea who Paul was but were intriqued by the amount of requests they got. So they called his agent asking who this Paul McGillion is. Paul guesses they like what they found out because they gave him an audition. Altho He wasn't cast as Scotty, JJ liked him enough to offer him a small part. Saturday was the day I had for my photo ops with Joe & Paul. I meet up with the squirrels for breakfast. We went to the food court. I was wearing my John and Rodney Atlantis T-shirt. As I was getting my breakfast a guy bumped into me and spill his gigantic glass of lemonade all over my shirt. ARRGGGHH!!!! It was getting close to my photo appointment time so I quickly ate my breakfast and ran back to my hotel to change by shirt. Then as I was running back to the hotel where the photos were being taken it started to rain. I thought if I have to change my shirt again I will not be happy. Thankfully it only sprinkle a bit so I manage to stay dry and get to the photo op on time. I ran into Swimchic who was also waiting in line so we waited together. The line moved pretty quickly which was understandable given how many people there were but it didn't have that cranky rush them all thru as fast as you can kind of feeling. My first experience with Joe was definitely memorable. I go up, shake his hand, say hi, get in position and as the camera guy was getting ready I say something like I heard you missed your flight. He laughs and goes OMG yes I was supposed to be here earlier. Then the pic is taken and you get a quick goodbye. As I was leaving the camera guy yells for me to come back because the shot was no good. So poor me had to go stand next to Joe again. This time as I had my arm around his waist I took the time to notice how really soft his shirt was. Then the pic was taken and off I go with Swimchic to get my Paul pic. Paul was so sweet. He noticed that on my shirt was a Roots Canada T-Shirt so he asked if I was from Canada and I say yes and he said that was cool. So he hugged me and the pic was taken. Then I got my autographs. I had a photo taken with Jason at Dragon*con 2007 that I wanted him to sign. So I go up to his table and give him my photo. He sits up and smiles, I say hi, he mumble something, takes the photo, looks at it, and his handler comments that the photo is from 2007, he mumbles something again, signs it, gives it back to me and then he just leans back in his chair waiting for the next person. I just found that odd but amusing. He is so laid back. Joe was more talkative. I go up to him and say hi and he say HI. I gave him my photo. Then he signs it, "Go Canada". He knows I am canadian because of my T-shirt. I commented that Canada is a good place to work and he said yes he really enjoyed it. Then I said he should come back here next year because David said he was going to come. Joe gives me a confused look and says "Where?" I said here at Dragon*con, David say he might come here next year. Joe says something like Oh, maybe. I think I confused him because just the moment before we were talking about him working in Canada. I got Paul's autograph too. He was sweet. He has a lovely smile. My fave auto moment is with Colin Cunningham. He is such a lively and friendly guy to meet. As I give him the photo for him to sign, I explain that it is from my first Stargate con back in 2003. He looks quite surprised by that and asks why haven't I had it autographed before this. I said that I haven't the chance to see him since then. He goes well then I will have to give you a really good autograph. So he signs it "SUCH A PLEASURE, WONDERFUL TO SEE YOU AGAIN". He then gives it back to me and I go to pay him but he says no you paid for that back in 2003. I thought that was so sweet for him not to charge me. He then stood up and lean across the table to hug me and give me a small kiss on the cheek. Check out my pics in the Joe and Paul Threads. Well that is all I can think up for now. | |

Don't worry! Squirrels CAN be patient when they have to be! Sometimes real life is more important to deal with. Although, if you need to escape for a while, we will be hanging out here for you! {{{{Hugs}}}}
