I'm going to Dragon*Con for the first time EVER this year!

I'm excited about it.

I'm trying to read the rest of this one book "Dark Moon" before I leave so I can start reading the other one I have while I'm on the plane lol Not going too far with that plan tho.....lol Oh well.

didn't someone say that D*C posts a schedual like 10 days before the con??? WELL 9 DAYS LEFT! and I was hoping to see one to get a better idea of what kind of madness I'll be doing

It's strange. They're usually up and running by now. From what I've heard from friends who are directors, though, they're doing all sorts of last-minute things that should not be allowed. It's messing up their own scheduling.

My first time to Dragon*con was overwhelming. I have never seen so many people crowded in one place before. It was the biggest event I had ever been too. The panel rooms were great. It was just some what of a strugggle sometimes to get from one place to another.

Good thing we had cell phones because we lost a part of our group in a big crowd and only located them because we called them.

Other than that it was FANTASTIC. Great panels, lots of cool costume to see and great friends to hang out with.

Looking forward to all kinds of pics, reports and hopefully a few YOUTUBE vids.

As a reminder, bring along a highlighter, a pen and some paper clips to mark up the hard copy you can get at the con.

Are folks willing to trade cell phone numbers so we can attempt to find each other? I'm meeting some other Gate geek friends on Thursday, but it would be nice to track everyone down on Friday. I plan on getting downtown by 11am so I can get in and settled on the panels or the autographing by 1pm. (Whichever is more interesting at the time.)

And yes, be ready for insane crowds. It can get a bit crazy. Hopefully the Marriott set up the nice, quiet gaming area on the third floor again, this year. Such peace to be found there!

I don't mind sharing my phone # i may just email it to you though. Trish and Kimberly already have mine. I am glad the sch is now up. I am going to have to get my dad to print it out on his super powered printer at work.

I was wondering when everyone is getting in and where everyone is staying. This is what I have so far:

I'm leaving at 8pm monday lol I'll have to be at the airport about 6 or so but I tried to make it as late as I could without being a problem for mom to pick me up and her be able to get to work the next morning.

I just wanted to post a pic that i took at last years con

I will be coming down Thursday afternoon to get my badge and pick up my housemates and then heading back home. So I might see you at registration.

Then I'll be back on Friday morning and staying the whole time. I tend to arrive by around 9:30am and head out around midnight. Since my big thing is going to the panels, I don't see much need for trying to stay up and party.

By the way, I finished the ADB Quilt for the Stargate track auction.

Another thing. It looks like it will be raining the whole time. Since there are not covered walkways to the new hotels, you'll need one to go back and forth.

Oh I am GLAD I found this thread!!!!
We were hoping to get a leaflet type press pack set up for the cons, and with Dragon con being this weekend, we have very little time to get official stuff out and printed. So I was wondering that if we get a leaflet designed for the campaign, could people going to D'con print out as many as they can and distribute them at the con??

It would be most appreciated and would ge the word out to as many people as we could that do not frequent the internet but love the show.

Wow! Just been checking the offical site - what a brilliant list of guests - Rainbow, Torri, Jewel and David N from SGA, plus a few others that look very intersting.
