| Barcardicider has suggested that we use Baz's upcoming first birthday to do another round of fundraising for DWB. Maybe come up with something we can create to send to them, too?
Let's take a week to plan and then launch this over on the main site.
Thoughts? | |

| Something at least semi-big (I'm thinking size of bathroom garbage pail), and soft so Baz can play with it... | |

| I had the idea of doing a DWB fundraiser for Baz's bday, right after Shore Leave! I am such a procrastinator that I haven't gotten around to posting it....yeah...I'm bad! So I'm really glad that Barcardicider brought it up on dGeek and that you picked it up and ran with it Rosiewook!!! Here's my idea....I have the cutest little shirt from Cafepress with Karate Patrick on it for Baz that I was thinking of sending on behalf all the squirrels that want to participate. By participate I mean, donate to DWB. We could do it like we did the last fundraiser for David's bday: 1. I can send the Karate Patrick shirt with a letter of explanation of what we are doing. 2. Everyone that wants to participate can donate tohttp://www.firstgiving.com/squirrels]DWB First giving (put in the comment your screenname/real name and that it's in honor of Baz's first bday) 3. Everyone can send a bday card to Baz signed with their real and/or screenname and a note saying they donated to DWB. Ok...I think that's all of it. And, I guess we can still send the shirt and cards to Bridge Studios? If everyone wants to skip sending the t-shirt ....that's totally ok. I'll just send it on my own. I thought it might be cute to send from all of us. At Shore Leave I brought a Squirrel signature shirt for Baz and gave it to David from us squirrels when we got the private squirrel meeting with him. He seemed to think it was really cute. Kimber | |

| Kimbers, I think that's a brilliant idea! I'm definately on board.
Scuffnstuff mentioned that she could make one of her soft squirrels to send as well.
I would assume that Bridge Studios would forward on any mail for a while.

| I think it's cute to send him a present, too.
What shall we call this campaign?
Baz's Birthday Bonanza?
The Squirrel Prince Fundraiser?
Baz's Birthday Bucks?
Um. Okay. Running out of ideas.

| Nah...we need a title that has nothing to do with it. That way, we can ask each other about it on dGeek and he won't suspect a thing if he reads one of those posts. (Hey! How's 'blank' coming along? I haven't been on in a few days'.) You know, kinda of like how Star Wars was called Blue Harvest while in production...
-Black Sun -Red Sky -Full Circle -Loyalties
...yada yada yada, my list of suggestions goes on.

| How about a codename that sounds completely boring? One we know a guy would have no interest in? Something non-geeky. Um.... quilting project Bought at zoo (acronym BAZ) Butterflies are zooming..(acronym BAZ) meh...I don't know how we can refer to any of those without sounding really weird....lol! Um, except maybe the quilting project. How about the SSP? Super Secret Project? Or BSSP...for Baz's Super Secret Project.... *sigh* I don't know.... Kimber | |

| Joe M's birthday is not that long after Baz's...Why don't we use that to our advantage?
"Hey! How's the Joe M. Birthday Project coming along?"
That sounds innocent and he would have no idea....

| I'm with the Quilting Tread as our cover - although finding a acronym title for BAZ would be brilliant! | |

| I'm open. Although I know from past correspondence with David, he and Jane know all and see all! They rather enjoy watching the funds come in on the site when we do campaigns. So maybe we should have one that's "out in the open" for the actual collecting of dollars and another that's under a code name for a gift for Baz? Or we could try to be all secretive, too. Any other opinions? I see lots of viewers of this page, but only a few talkers. | |

| I think that would be a good idea...
Have the DWB fund raising on dGeek, but Baz's gift be in secret.
Any ideas on a term we could use to mean Baz?

| How about calling it Squirrels Quilting Club?
I can't imagine quilting would interesting David. And I somehow doubt Jane has the time to quilt.
We could then try to spread the word through the backup list to go there.

. I like it! I have made a start on a new Squirrel tonight. Anyone else have suggestions? Are we going to try and make one parcel or send several? How do these things usually work?

| Scruffnstuff or Kimberly - Why don't you start up the Quilter's Club thread, since that'll be mostly your baby.
I'll start up the Baz campaign.
What are we going to call it?

| Um...I'm confused. I saw the Squirrels Quilting Club here...but we don't really have to disguise it here. Aren't we going to put it on dGeek so people can see it there? We don't have that many squirrels on here lately. Kimberly | |

Of course, I just got kicked out of DGeek.

| Where do you want to put the thread on dGeek? That is if it settles down again I keep getting kicked off too. Might be worth keeping the one here as a back up for the time being. | |
