| I LOVE brain teasers and puzzles and such and found a few to share so I thought I'd start a place to share them!
jump on in and share and guess! --------------------------------------------- Imagine a prisoner in a prison. He is sentenced to death and has been told that he will be killed on one day of the following week. He has been assured that the day will be a surprise to him, so he will not be anticipating the hangman on a particular day, thus keeping his stress levels in check.
The prisoner starts to think to himself, if I am still alive on Thursday, then clearly I shall be hanged on Friday, this would mean that I then know the day of my death, therefore I cannot be hanged on Friday. Now then, if I am still alive on Wednesday, then clearly I shall be hanged on Thursday, since I have already ruled out Friday. The prisoner works back with this logic, finally concluding that he cannot after all be hanged, without already knowing which day it was. Casually, resting on his laurels, sitting in his prison cell on Tuesday, the warden arrives to take him to be hanged, the prisoner was obviously surprised! ------------------------------------------- At one time, the Canadian and US dollars were discounted by 10 cents on each side of the border (i.e., a Canadian dollar was worth 90 US cents in the US, and a US dollar was worth 90 Canadian cents in Canada). A man walks into a bar on the US side of the border, orders 10 US cents worth of beer, pays with a US dollar and receives a Canadian dollar in change. He then walks across the border to Canada, orders 10 Canadian cents worth of beer, pays with a Canadian dollar and receives a US dollar in change. He continues this throughout the day, and ends up drunk with the original dollar in his pocket. Who pays for the drinks? ------------------------------------------- Study this paragraph and all things in it. What is vitally wrong with it? Actually, nothing in it is wrong, but you must admit that it is most unusual. Don't just zip through it quickly, but study it scrupulously. With luck you should spot what is so particular about it and all words found in it. Can you say what it is? Tax your brains and try again. Don't miss a word or a symbol. It isn't all that difficult? -------------------------------------------- A man came into town on friday, left on friday, but stayed 3 days. How can that be?
When you want the answers let me know.

| I always end up kicking myself for the brain teasers, because usually the answer is so obvious.
In the one about the paragraph, is it anything to do with the question mark at the end, because it is a statement not a question?

Katie, I think I have worked this out. There is no letter"e" in any of the words in this sentence. Which is pretty weird because "e" is the most commonly used letter in the english language. Hangman fans take note!
